S*A*N*D W*I*C*H P*H*O*T*O

This weekend I shot an event for GOOD Magazine here in San Francisco, & I had the opportunity to meet the great grandson of 19th century Spirit Photographer William H. Mumler, & his wife. They were in attendance to see a BAND called The Mumlers who they’d heard about & wanted to talk to about their name.
I was totally unfamiliar with Mumler’s work, but from what it looks like, either his camera was in touch with the spiritual world or he was the inventor of a very early version of photoshop. The picture is of Mary Todd Lincoln & Honest Abe’s ghost (allegedly). Totally weird & fascinating stuff.
